Sap Adventures has changed the idea (on the whole Inca Trail) of the OLD tourism practices (abusive) to a real SUSTAINABLE TOURISM DEVELOPMENT (care for the environment, very good treatment for our porters, tour guides, office staff and a honest tourist personal service, a licensed tour operator) is an agency that works with knowledgable, experienced Tour Guides, is environmentally sensitive and believes strongly in sustainable tourism in general. Sap Adventures has currently created jobs for some 40 guides, 230 porters and 28 cooks and contributes to the Peruvian government with 19% taxes on all sales (overseas companies are exempt from paying this so do not contribute to the Peruvian economy in this aspect).
Ever since Sap Adventures was first established we have been helping to spread some of the benefits brought by tourism to local communities by donating school equipment to village schools and ensuring that it is properly used. A large percentage of the profits made by sap adventures go towards such community projects.
And this make us feel proud and encourages to improve our ideas and actions.
